I am happy to share that the abstract, “Advocacy Through Parent-Led Action: WeCare Deaf Support Network,” has been accepted for a stage presentation at the Caribbean Deaf Education Conference in July 2026.
This presentation will be delivered by our very own Mary A Bastien and Qushiba La Fleur me. They both bring lived experience to this work as parents and advocates of children with disabilities.
As a parent of a deaf child, Qushiba see every day how communication barriers exclude Deaf persons from critical spaces yet their voices must be heard.
Through WeCare Deaf Support Network, we continue to promote advocacy in action by building practical, community-driven solutions that places Deaf voices at the centre.
We look forward to their contribution at this important regional conference.
